The role
You will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of linen services within healthcare facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include sorting soiled linen, feeding linen into production equipment for folding and ironing, performing hand-folding tasks, and packing clean linen for distribution. You will also be responsible for the collection and delivery of linen to various wards and the operation of tug equipment to facilitate transportation. Additionally, you will contribute to the overall hygiene and safety of the workplace by performing general cleaning duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and waste removal, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
This role requires physical stamina, as it involves repetitive manual handling tasks, including lifting, sorting, and feeding linen into machines. You will be expected to operate automated and computerised equipment effectively while adhering to strict infection control measures, including the use of specialised personal protective equipment (PPE) where required. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure seamless linen service operations. Successful applicants must meet the required vaccination standards for specific vaccine-preventable diseases, and non-permanent residents must disclose any visa conditions.
