Surry Hills, Australia The General Store Full time

**About the Role**

We’re looking for a talented and well-rounded **Interior Designer** to join our Architecture & Interiors team. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to work across all stages of design—from early concept development through to technical documentation and delivery.

You'll collaborate closely with our creative team and clients to bring spaces to life—particularly in retail and customer experience environments. We're after someone who’s not only passionate about design but also technically skilled and confident managing both the creative and practical aspects of a project.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Design & Documentation**
- Develop innovative and relevant design concepts based on client briefs
- Prepare space planning, design presentations, and mood boards
- Produce detailed design documentation, drawings, and specifications for construction
- Work across all project phases—from concept and schematic design through to documentation and delivery
- Ensure all documentation meets quality standards and aligns with design intent
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless execution

**Client Engagement**
- Understand client needs, business objectives, and project requirements
- Support and sometimes lead client presentations and design discussions
- Assist in documenting meeting notes, decisions, and next steps
- Help build strong, long-term relationships with clients through clear and professional communication

**Team Collaboration & Culture**
- Work closely with senior designers, design directors, and the broader studio team
- Be proactive, open to feedback, and collaborative in your approach
- Contribute positively to studio culture—supportive, inclusive, and creatively ambitious
- Stay curious and engaged in design trends, materials, and technologies

**Technical Skills & Requirements**
- 3+ years of professional experience in interior design or interior architecture (retail or experiential design experience a bonus)
- Strong design sensibility, with the ability to take a project from concept through to detailed design and delivery
- Proficient in key design software, including:

- **AutoCAD** or **Revit** (essential)
- **SketchUp**, **Rhino**, or similar 3D modelling tools
- **Adobe Creative Suite** (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for presentations
- Excellent documentation and detailing skills
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and technical drawing standards
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator, both in writing and in person

**What We Offer**
- A creative, collaborative, and supportive team environment
- The chance to work on exciting, high-profile projects that shape the customer experience
- A culture that encourages growth, innovation, and professional development
- Flexible work arrangements and a strong focus on work-life balance

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
