This newly created position is pivotal as Business Chamber Queensland leads the state’s business community in the next decade and beyond. In this role you’ll drive the development and implementation of new products and services, manage large scale project and grant opportunities, oversee IT and cyber security, and grow international services, and lead a digital transformation project. You will also drive the strategic approach to data and insights throughout the organisation.

The General Manager - Commercial Operations will:

- Identify and pursue opportunities to build strategic and commercial relationships and partnerships;
- Lead new products and services to ensure Business Chamber Queensland is delivering services to best meet business needs;
- Drive the strategic approach of data and insights throughout the organisation;
- Control of the corporate development budget;
- Oversee the international business and export service;
- Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the Executive Leadership Team to meet strategic objectives. These objectives include a future-focus on revenue and membership growth, partnership and collaboration opportunities with industry associations, government agencies and private sector companies;
- Drive the development and implementation of new products and services;
- Manage large scale project and grant opportunities;
- Oversee IT and cyber security;
- Lead a digital transformation project.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

- Senior leadership experience in a complex organisation and the proven the ability to drive revenue growth and successful corporate strategies;
- Experience in international business development and partnership management;
- Experience in leading commercial negotiations;
- A strong commercial and business focused approach;
- Tertiary qualifications in law, business or related discipline;
- Experience in project and grant management;
- The ability to oversee a technology function and a digital transformation;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Knowledge of industry trends and government policy implications.
