Hunter Water is seeking a Reporting Analyst to join the Finance and Business Performance Division, where you will work within a collaborative team environment focussed on staff wellbeing. This role is a 2 year fixed term contract.

**The Challenge**

The Reporting Analyst works within the Business Performance and Analysis team and is responsible for the development, preparation, automation, and maintenance of Hunter Water’s suite of business performance reports and financial analysis tools, delivering and enabling strong commercial insights to achieve strategic and operational business outcomes and improvements.

**What you’ll do**:

- Utilise Power BI as the tool of choice to design, develop, standardise and deliver high quality, purpose-built dashboard reports.
- Establish ongoing methods, procedures and processes central to the ongoing maintenance of a dashboard reporting suite.
- Provide ongoing review of all processes and systems, using a continuous improvement mindset to identifying improvements and efficiencies where appropriate.
- Lead training and education for users on how to update, navigate and identify insights once reports have been generated and approved for use.
- Act as a key user contact for technical and data issues within the reporting suite.
- Provide data modelling and analysis as required.
- Cleanse, transform and model large financial and non-financial datasets.
- Maintain documentation on all assumptions and provide analysis where shifts in trends occur.
- Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and key business partners across Hunter Water.

**What you’ll need to be successful**:
**Essential Criteria**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting, Commerce or a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in financial and data analysis, reporting and providing commercial insights to stakeholders.
- Experience creating dashboards and reporting in platforms such as Power BI.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience with modern data storage systems (e.g. Snowflake or similar)
- Experience in using one or more of SQL, DAX, VBA or similar
