Head of Risk

A fixed term, 6-month opportunity has arisen in our Bupa Health Services Risk and Governance supporting our Bupa Optical and Bupa Dental Care business units.
- Reporting to Director Risk & Quality, Health Services, this is a hybrid role and will be based from our Melbourne CBD office location when not working from home.

**How will I help?
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

- Supporting the relevant Leadership teams with an understanding of the business risk profile and status of control environment including any material incidents and ensuring assurance and compliance activities are in place to assess the control effectiveness of key risks and key controls
- Maintaining quality management strategy, to optimise operational excellence and meet the contractual and business requirements
- Maintaining system certifications (ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety System) ensuring improvement opportunities and corrective actions are completed.
- Supporting risk assessment and risk profiling activities, monitoring of the risks and control environment, and management of non-clinical issues and incidents
- Maintaining a reporting framework that meets contractual and internal reporting obligations and plans such as the risk management plan, quality plan, WHS plan, etc to meet contractual requirements
- Enabling the Bupa Dental Care and Bupa Optical businesses to deliver foundational and strategic processes with embedded controls and quality assurance practices for driving customer centric improvements and management of risk as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) and within appetite
- Utilising and maintaining the APAC GRC system to ensure risk and quality data is accurate to enable more informed decision making and drive better customer outcomes
- Play a key role in uplifting risk maturity to enable the customer revolution, continuous improvement activities, operational performance, ensuring Bupa is loved by customers and clients, and employees love working at Bupa.

**What do I need?**
- Tertiary qualifications in business, risk management, or a related discipline
- Experience in risk management and / or quality management roles in large organisations in health care, insurance, and / or financial services
- Strategic and operational thinking must be applied to understand current and desired risk management states that will drive continuous customer centric and digital improvements and sound management of risk and controls, and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with proven ability to engage and drive performance
- Strong analytical, verbal and written reporting skills to communicate risk concepts and deliver meaningful information to senior leadership teams
- A proven track record of effective stakeholder management and successfully driving outcomes
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes through consultation and collaboration
- **This is a Security Cleared Position. The occupant must be an Australian Citizen and must be eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance**
