We are seeking a Records Officer to assist with the evaluation, development, implementation, maintenance, review, delivery and support of processes relating to appraisal, sentencing, transfer or disposal of departmental records. This role is offered with full-time hours on a one-year contract (commencing 9/01/23 to approx. 8/12/23).

**About the role**
As a Records Officer (retention and disposal) you will be responsible for the following:

- Documenting the records disposal in department process
- Supporting with department consultation including collecting and analyzing feedback on the proposed process
- Providing training, advice and support for records disposal
- Assisting in preparing inventories of records for disposal
- Map record classes to the general and functional disposal schedules
- Appraising and sentence legacy records, prepare items and documentation for transfer
- Updating registers, approvals and destruction certificates
- Assisting with electronic/hybrid disposal activities including data cleansing
- Digitalisation and early disposal of physical source records, disposal of damaged and lost records and secondary storage
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders for the effective uplift of retention, transfer and disposal activities
- Provide guidance for workloads to ensure deadlines and a quality, responsive client service is maintained

**About You**:

- Minimum 1+ years of experience in Administration
- Knowledge or experience in records management (desirable)
- Understanding and experience with disposal functions in Content Manager
- Attention to detail and high degree of confidentiality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team
