**About the role**:
The Media and Events Adviser is responsible for providing media relations advice, driving the creation of high-quality media content, and telling compelling stories about the impact of the Department of Health's work.
The role will develop Ministerial event opportunities, both media and stakeholder - identifying potential locations and stories, arranging logistics of the visit and drafting supporting materials.
The incumbent will work closely with branch colleagues, ministerial offices, department executives and relevant business areas within the department to ensure communications material is clear, engaging, timely, and aligned to the department's strategic narrative and plan.

**About you**
You're someone who can;
Work with stakeholders to get to the bottom of issues and write clear, effective media responses to journalists' enquiries.
Deliver high-profile media announcements and events, and effectively manage and mitigate potential media issues.
Develop exciting and newsworthy event opportunities, including identifying potential locations, finding different angles and case studies, arranging logistics and drafting supporting material.
Experience in preparation of media responses, issues strategies, QAs, key messaging and other communications outputs, ideally in a government setting.
Experience in or a solid understanding of the Victorian Public Service and the department's role in communicating with media, the community, key stakeholders and supporting the government of the day.
Tertiary qualified in fields related to communications, media or associated disciplines
