**The role**
Principal Heritage Advisor - Energy will support MinRes heritage survey programmes, from drafting of scopes to coordinating field surveys and compliance activities across the MinRes portfolio to ensure continuity of operation in both brownfields and greenfields environments with a focus on the Energy business.
You will play a key part of the Heritage team engaging with Traditional Owners (and their corporations) on the planning of heritage surveys, the coordination and management of on ground surveys, compliance activities and act as MinRes’ representative where there are significant heritage constraints to be discussed.
This position will report directly to the Heritage Manager. You will be predominantly based out of our HQ office in Osborne Park corporate HQ and there will be regular site visits to oversee Heritage requirements as the business requires.
**Key deliverables**:
- Provide high level heritage advice to ensure MinRes achieves business objectives.
- Plan and represent MinRes on Aboriginal Heritage surveys and in key meetings with Traditional Owners
- Assist in planning the transition to the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021
- Develop and implement a robust reporting procedure to ensure the Manager Heritage and business is kept updated on the status and progress of survey scheduling, in-field activities, and Traditional Owner engagements.
- Develop and issue scopes of work and Activity Notices for heritage field surveys.
- Schedule and coordinate logistics for heritage field surveys
- Represent MinRes on ground participating with traditional owners, anthropologists, and archaeologists for delivery of heritage surveys.
- Assist the Manager Heritage, and Manager Land Access & Approvals - Energy to develop strategies where there are potentially significant heritage issues to be managed.
- Assist in the management of ground disturbing activities, including arranging for Traditional Owner monitors, to ensure heritage sites are not adversely impacted.
- Ensure compliance with conditions set out in statutory heritage approvals and heritage agreements.
**What you’ll bring to the team**:
- Knowledge of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021 and operation of the Native Title Act in WA
- Demonstrated experience relating to heritage field survey planning and on ground implementation.
- Committed, energetic with a problem-solving mindset.
- Organisational skills in a fast paced and complex environment
- Excellent computer skills
- Competent GIS skills including use of ArcGIS and handheld GPS devices.
- Current drivers’ licence.
- Experience in 4WD operation and remote area driving
- First Aid and emergency management skills
