An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated **Payroll Officer** to join a dynamic team at Brandbank.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will be required to lead and assist the payroll team to ensure effective administration of payroll services across all of our retail brands by performing a variety of tasks associated with preparation of the fortnightly payroll.
**THE ROLE**:
- Processing of the fortnightly payroll for store staff, including calculation as per award, coding and entering into the payroll system
- Ensure that time sheets are processed in a reliable, timely and efficient manner ensuring correct remuneration on the due date and in compliance with relevant industrial instruments, including Awards and common law contracts
- Input details of new staff members into MicrOpay, including the processing of taxation, banking and superannuation details
- Review and prepare termination calculations to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and legislation
- Award interpretation of both AUS and New Zealand, this will enable to assist with any adjustments required within either Timetarget or MicrOpay built in formulas
- Upgrading of pay classifications for employees when increases take place according to the Award
- Respond in a timely manner to payroll queries from store teams or management
**THE REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum 2-3+ years experience in payroll position (Retail Industry preferred)
- Sound knowledge of MicrOpay or similar payroll system (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of Humanforce (Timetarget) Time and Attendance System preferred but not essential
- Demonstrated knowledge of awards and award classifications; Modern Retail Award
- Proficiency in all MS Office Programs (Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills: VLOOKUP & pivot tables)
- Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
- An understanding of the payroll cycle and processes
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills
- Comfortable to work onsite in our St Kilda Rd Offices 5 days per week.
