About the role
Shape the future of AGL’s enterprise technology and architecture practice
We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Manager - Enterprise Technology and Architecture Practice to join our Architecture team and lead the end-to-end architecture for the enterprise technology landscape.
The Group Manager is responsible for developing and growing the architecture team of Principal and Solution Architects. You will also promote and manage the architecture services and focus on maturing the competency of architecture through continuous improvement and innovative methods, and tools.
About the Architecture Technology team
The Architecture team is part of the Technology business area and is responsible for shaping AGL’s technological landscape and IT infrastructure. We strive to make an impact by providing thought leadership to identify opportunities to take an enterprise approach to transforming a business capability. We take a structured approach to understand business problems, identify synergies across business areas and deliver fit for purpose solutions.
What you’ll be doing- Develop and maintain Architecture practices across all architecture domains and functions. This includes maintaining the architecture framework, architecture website, engagement model, cost models, architecture recovery rates, governance model, service catalogue, accelerators, and guardrails.- Define the medium-term (up to 18 months) technology architecture and develop the longer-term Technology strategy and planning activities for Retail and Energy technology.- Lead and grow a talented team of Principal and Solution Architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and innovation. Provide mentorship and empower your team to continuously improve architecture practices.- Trusted advisor to the CIO, GM Architecture, and broader Technology leadership team.- Work with other practices and guilds (business management, portfolio governance, engineering, cyber, data, cloud, product, procurement, risk management, ITSM teams) to continually improve end-to-end efficiency and value of architecture.- Continuously review and optimise architecture practices, accelerators, and guardrails. Use emerging technologies and industry trends to guide executive decision-making and ensure that AGL remains at the forefront of technological innovation.
About you
What you’ll bring to the table- Proven experience as an architecture manager, practice lead or senior enterprise architect, with a deep understanding of architecture disciplines and frameworks.-
- Proven experience in establishing architecture practices and development of multi-year technology implementation plans for a large portfolio of enterprise technology and tools.- Experience with systems such as SAP ERP, Workday, Adobe Marketing tool, ITSM, and employee technology (messaging, collaboration, service desk, AV).- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate high-performing teams and foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including educating and influencing senior stakeholders and negotiating better outcomes.- A passion for innovation, mentoring team members and embracing contemporary practices (Agile, DevOps).
