**About the role**

Reporting to HSEQ Manager, the **HSEQ Advisor **will provide technical and assurance support to our teams in various locations, being the leader in safety from the office to the field and maintaining our ISO-certified Integrated HSEQ Management System.
- Ensuring the requirements of Verbrec Integrated HSEQ management systems are being demonstrated and maintained.
- Advising on and coordinating the delivery of legislatively compliant HSEQ practices, strategies, plans, procedures and training.
- Providing advice to the business to assist with the identification, assessment, and control of HSE risks. Ensure the hierarchy of controls is employed to reduce the risk to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
- Developing and implementing HSEQ policies, projects’ HSEQ Management Plans and HSEQ documentation to improve HSEQ outcomes.
- Assisting HSEQ audits, inspections, and investigations to ensure reporting, root-cause analysis and continual improvement.
- Providing support during external and internal audits and ensuring that any non-conformances and other improvements from the audits are managed per Verbrec’s procedure.
- Coordinating and, when required, lead incident (including near misses) investigation per Verbrec’s incident management procedure. Supporting responsible injury management and safe Return to Work.
- Providing internal training to team members in safe working procedures and in the Integrated Management System.
- Proactively identifying and executing new initiatives to improve HSEQ performance.

**The Person**

You will be an HSEQ practitioner who has a successful track record of working in construction, pipeline and/or operations, as well as an engineering environment. You will also have:

- Qualifications in WHS (Degree/Diploma) or equivalent, lead ISO (45001, 14001 and 9001) auditor accreditation (desired) and Cert IV Training and Assessment (preferable).
- Experience in successfully developing and delivering compliant HSEQ Management Systems.
- A strong understanding of Australian regulations and codes of practice.
- Strong leadership and demonstrated ability to drive positive cultural change from the office to the field.
- Ability to engage with all levels of the organisation, clients and stakeholders to build trusting and positive relationships.
- A willingness to travel to sites and offices across Australia and New Zealand.
- Sound administrative skills, including document and record management skills.
