We are proud of our ever-expanding portfolio of projects covering tank and bridge engineering and construction, terminal expansions, infrastructure remediation, technical EPCM services and industrial electrical/process automation solutions.
Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking another experienced HSE Advisor to join the Saunders team onsite at Outer Harbour, Adelaide, South Australia.
Responsible for supporting the Project Manager & HSEQ Manager for the ongoing implementation, auditing and continued improvement of our HS&E systems and processes and monitoring compliance. Providing expert knowledge and advice whilst working in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders onsite.
Ensure Saunders Fit for Work standards are upheld enabling all employees to effectively perform their roles safely onsite. Working in line with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation with as required support for return-to-work practices.
**THE ROLE**
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Provide expert knowledge and advice and work in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on-site.
- Oversee and manage permit system and controls.
- Ensure site-based inspections and task observations are completed.
- Ensure project personnel have the necessary competencies and complete the necessary documentation for equipment utilised on-site.
- Be responsible for having training and induction records on-site up to date.
- Support on-site incident investigations.
- Provide site HS&E subcontractor management.
- Provide injury management/rehabilitation (suitable duties) services.
- Deliver workplace safety training such as inductions, awareness, and site work health and safety training.
- Commitment to coordinating and monitoring the safety of self and others with consideration and courage to report any observed unsafe situation or behaviour.
- Undertake Fit for Work checks of employees in accordance with Australian Standards
- Support and administrate return to work principles.
- Oversee Environmental compliance including ESCP compliance.
**_ Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies._**
- Assist the company wherever possible to ensure the overall health, safety and welfare of all Saunders International Personnel, Contractors, or visitors within the Entity.
- Ensure all work practices are carried out in as safe a manner as possible and always complies with all applicable legislation and Saunders International’s Occupational Health Safety and Environmental (OHS&E) policies / procedures.
- Insist that all services delivered to clients always meet the strict quality standards set by the Company.
- Actively promote and reflect the Saunders Values of Safety, Integrity, Innovation, Teamwork and Leadership.
**ABOUT YOU**
**_ Essential _**
- Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety
- HSE Audit qualified
- Experience with undertaking fit for work checks inclusive of alcohol, drugs and fatigue.
- Outstanding attention to detail and record keeping ability.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to communicate in a respectful and considerate manner.
- Experience working with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation or working with OHS issues.
- An understanding of infection control principles and current PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT) requirements
**_ Desirable _**
- Experience in construction and/or engineering industries.
- Infection control training, or the ability to obtain this.
- Certificate IV Training and Assessor
- ICAM qualified
