**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

**The Role**
Reporting to the Director, Financial Governance and Performance, the Assistant Director, Financial Governance plays a critical role in ensuring the department is compliant with the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework (including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 and the PGPA Rule), Accountable Authority Instructions, Financial Delegations and other related internal policies.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the EL1 may include:
- Lead and manage the functions of the team in achieving its business objectives through staff supervision, mentoring and the day-to-day management.
- Providing advice and support to the department around the Commonwealth Resource Management Framework, which includes the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA Act) 2013, Accountable Authority Instructions (AAIs), Financial Delegation schedules and internal policies.
- Liaise directly with stakeholders to lead the compliance process for the department including preparing and managing complex board papers.
- Developing, coordinating and facilitating financial governance offerings for the department, including training courses, guidance materials and intranet resources.
- Manage the collection of relevant information to meet reporting requirements, inform the performance of the department’s internal governance.
- Prepare and analyse financial governance performance and status information to inform decision making.
