**About the role**:
The position plays a key role in the management and maintenance of the City of Ballarat’s unsealed road network and associated assets. The Supervisor Unsealed Roads will work closely with internal crews and contractors in the planning and delivery of works and programs to facilitate greater efficiencies in carrying out maintenance and renewal activities.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate your team and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Effective collaboration skills, enabling you to work confidently with other Supervisors, contractors, and community members.
- A solid understanding of unsealed road operations, with the capability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Hands-on experience in gravel road maintenance and renewal, including knowledge of associated assets and techniques.
- Familiarity with digital work scheduling tools, and the ability to manage tasks in a computerised environment.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Diploma or equivalent, supported by at least 5 years of supervisory experience in civil maintenance—or a combination of lesser formal qualifications and equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of the Road Management Act 2004 and Council’s Road Management Plan.
- A valid Construction Industry Induction Card and current Driver’s Licence.
- Comprehensive understanding of civil and road maintenance techniques, particularly in relation to unsealed roads.

- Qualifications and experience as listed above
- Ability to lead and motivate staff to demonstrate and display City of Ballarat values and behaviours
- Experience in the planning, implementation, and supervision of a team to achieve daily work activities
- Experience in the delivery of a works program through the implementation of new systems and processes to improve work practices.
- Knowledge and experience in Civil and Maintenance techniques relating to Sealed Road Maintenance
- Knowledge and understanding of the Road Management Act 2004 and Council’s Road Management Plan.
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area.
