Seeking for an experienced Library Officer to join a State Government

**Your new company**

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Library Officer to join a large State Government department. To start on the 1st of May, on an initial 2-month temporary contract, likely to extend for another 6 months. The majority of time spent at Hillarys, some time at South Perth and other offices as required.

**Your new role**
- The Library Digitisation Project involves the assessment of all library materials held in the library.
- Decision-making about retention, discard or digitisation of books, research publications, journals, pamphlets and other library materials in accordance with legislation and policy will be required.- The incumbent will be required to lift boxes of materials, prepare and analyse spreadsheets of metadata, interrogate and update library and information systems as well as the national bibliographic database called Libraries Australia Document Delivery (LADD) system.
- Seeing to other administrative tasks as required.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience with library management systems such as FIRST LMS, and the UDC classification system.
- Familiarity with LADD.
- Attention to detail.
- Administrative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel etc).
- Able to lift 15kgs repetitively.
- Great communication (written and verbal) skills
- A current police clearance, dated within the past 3 months (or willing to obtain)
