**The Opportunity**:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Executive Level 1 Assistant Director Enterprise Architecture within Office of the CIO.

The Assistant Director role reports to the Director of Architecture & Cloud. The Enterprise Architecture team has three staff and is part of the larger Architecture & Cloud team which has around 20 staff. Two roles lead the Architecture & Cloud section under the office of the CIO: DPS Director of Architecture & Cloud and DPS Chief Enterprise Architect. The enterprise archtecture section manages DPS architecture review board which is responsible technology direction and governance to realise business vision, strategy and function for the Parliament.

The successful applicant can expect to work within the Information Systems Division to deliver diverse technologies that support the operation of the Parliamentary Departments, the Australian Parliament House and Parliamentarians offices around Australia. **Who we are looking for**:
We are seeking a positive and motivated individual that is comfortable working with diverse stakeholders to support technology leadership and governance within the information services division. Working in a small team, the successful applicant must have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and be adaptable and a fast learner, capable of understanding a broad range of business problems while also being comfortable with technical depth.

The role exercises a considerable degree of independendence and must practice sound decision making and judgement to engage in complex problem solving and issues management.

TOGAF certification and/or relevant tertiary qualifications, experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture or working within Parliament will be well regarded.

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in business or requirements analysis and development of solution strategies to meet the business requirements.
- Experience in IT roles, including systems architecture, software development, or IT project management.
- Certifications in TOGAF 9 - preferred; Other: ITIL Master, AWS Solutions Architecture, - an advantage
- Qualification/Degree in information technology, computer science, business or related field - an advantage
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (Confidential/Highly Protected/Secret) security clearance.

**Immediate supervisor**:Director, Enterprise Architecture

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Executive Level 1 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Provide EA services within Information Services Division (ISD) and to the division’s customers by analysing project and customer requests, providing specialist solution and EA advice, and proposing appropriate and pragmatic solutions to meet the client requests.
- Proactively engage and collaborate with relevant stakeholders from the parliamentary departments, other agencies and vendors to analyse, evaluate and validate that the departments technology investments are aligned to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Secretariat of the Enterprise Architecture Group to provide technology governance, manage risk and ensure compliance with whole-of-government policy, best practice advice, DPS ICT standards and enterprise platforms.
- Champion good digital habits by following and advocating ISD Enterprise Architecture principles.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, internal/external stakeholders, and service providers to ensure positive customer outcomes.
- Manage more sensitive and difficult problems relating to VIP customers.
- Manage, mentor, and provide guidance for team members and subordinate staff.
- Liaise and negotiate with other areas of DPS and other parliamentary departments and APS agencies.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._
