Media monitoring officer needed to join a State Government Department ASAP

**Your new company**

A State Government Department is looking for a Media Monitoring Officer to join their team. This role requires you to work shift work, on an initial temporary basis. Shifts operate across the entire week, including the weekend. Shifts range from commencing at 5:00am with others concluding at 11:00pm

**Your new role**

As an experienced a Media Monitoring Officer your daily duties will include but won’t be limited to:

- Monitor radio and television bulletins, current affairs and talkback radio programs according to time schedules and monitor the internet and press publications.
- Provide professional judgement in identifying and assessing items relevant to ministerial portfolios from the named above
- As required summarise relevant radio and television news bulletins, current affairs and talkback radio program items in a timely manner
- Identify and report important and breaking news items
- Scans and save press material accurately through their database system
- Assist in the maintenance of the newspaper library
- Responds to telephone queries
- Participate and assist in the training of staff
- Other duties as required

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Driver's licence
- National police clearance within the last 6 months
- Ability to work shift work on a rotating basis.
- Ability to work in a close knit team environment
- Ability to monitor, analyse and summarise information from electronic media.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate good organisation skills through meeting strict deadlines and working under pressure
- Experience and knowledge on the use of computers and systems
