**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience in providing leadership and quality teaching and learning for students with Autism, Intellectual Disability, who may also present with additional needs such as, sensory, challenging behaviour and communication.
Demonstrated capacity to lead a support unit while effectively managing the dual roles of Assistant Principal and exemplary classroom teacher with the proven ability to develop relationships, work collaboratively and build staff capacity to ensure a cohesive, high achieving and effective staff team to enhance student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
Capacity to lead a culture of inclusivity through highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively and professionally engage with students, colleagues, parents, carers, school learning support officers, external agencies, and the wider school community.
Capacity to lead consultation, planning, implementation, and review of Individualised Education Plans (IEP) for students in a support unit to promote continuous growth for social, emotional, behavioural, physical, and academic learning needs of students leading to quality educational and social outcomes.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
