**_Intake Assistant - Ongoing, Part-Time Roles (multiple positions available)_**

The Parkville Familial Cancer Centre and Genomic Medicine Department is a comprehensive genetic service which provides diagnosis, counselling and support to adults with a variety of genetic disorders.

We provide multidisciplinary clinics for diagnosis, risk assessment and risk management, with a team of clinical geneticists, genetic counsellors, and genetic nurses, as well as committed specialists in medical and surgical disciplines appropriate to support that clinic.

The role includes:

- Processing new referrals for The Parkville Familial Cancer Centre.
- Contacting patients to explain the services of the Familial Cancer Centre
- Gathering family history information, obtaining cancer verifications, booking appointments
- Completing administration and data entry tasks related to the intake process.
- Assisting in coordination of the intake process with team members, and liaising with Genetic Counsellors.

Other tasks include:

- Attendance team and intake meetings
- Following the current intake protocol, and updating the protocol as required.
- Accurate and timely data entry
- Communication and liaison with other genetic counsellors within the department.
- Effectively job share with other intake assistants
- Contribution towards quality assurance projects associated with the intake process.
- Entering required data on the electronic medical records system.
- Contribution towards training and support for students undertaking their placements in their intake tasks.
