Hays has partnered with a large organisation responsible for managing land and water title registries in Queensland. We are currently seeking an experienced Business Resilience & Risk Specialist to join their Legal & Corporate Governance team. This contract is for a minimum of 12 months, with the possibility to extend, offering a competitive salary based on experience.
**Your new role**
The Business Resilience and Risk Specialist is responsible for a project of work, working closely with the Executive team and senior leaders, to create a business wide strategic blueprint for the purposes of business resilience and risk management. The role will develop an overarching framework, expanding on any existing business resilience and risk documentation, while managing internal and external stakeholders/consultants to deliver an organisation wide uplift. While the organisation has some maturity in business continuity, creating a connected approach and formulating the vision and developing the key business playbooks and communication plans with the business is the key activity of this role.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive business resilience strategy or framework, including various management plans.
- Coordinate risk assessments and analyse potential impacts of a broad range of possible business interruptions (such as natural disasters, security breaches, legal claims, and market disruptions) to ensure robust preparedness, response and recovery capability.
- Adopt a wide, systemic view across the business, exploring internal and external context, strategic level impacts and risk related dependencies through a critical incident command and control lens focused on recovery and restoration of business-critical infrastructure, services and operations.
- In conjunction with the General Counsel, convene a Security and Risk Steering Group to integrate and embed business resilience planning, development, testing and governance across the organisation.
- Design and facilitate periodic practice drills and scenario exercises and develop and provide training around incident response logistics, crisis management plan execution, general risk management and business resilience protocols.
- Produce relevant reporting packs and dashboards, inclusive of developing playbooks and communication plans for the key risks.
- Help drive continual improvement in strategic risk management supporting business planning, adaptability and responsiveness for an overall resilience program.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver on this program of work inclusive of specialist consultancies to deliver in a timely manner.
- Adhere to policies and procedures.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related field OR Significant business risk & resilience experience and Diploma or similar level qualifications.
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience in a business risk and continuity or resilience role.
- A very good understanding of the concepts, tools and techniques key to business resilience, risk management, critical incident management, and business continuity.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous issues into common language for shared understanding to streamline consultation, manage conflict and contribute to quality strategic outcomes.
- Critical thinking with the ability to analyse, interpret and evaluate complex processes, systems, architecture or deliverables with an eye for detail that informs sound judgement, recommendations and solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective relationship building and stakeholder management.
- Capable of operating effectively in an evolving corporate landscape.
- Diligent and professional with a sense of personal accountability that engenders confidence with colleagues and stakeholders alike.
