**The opportunity**
We currently have an opportunity for a **Contracts Management Specialist** to join a small but collaborative team in the Light Rail Contracts team in the Chief Operations Office. The role will develop, refine and implement contract management processes for the Parramatta Light Rail project, and actively manage commercial aspects of contract management to business unit leadership teams.
Some of the key tasks of the role include:
- Manage the end to end contract management activities across the sub branch to ensure that contracts are consistent with government priorities and Transport for NSW strategic directions
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of the services including safety, asset, journey time, cleanliness, wayfinding, customer information, and contract and commercial management.
- Provide targeted support in contract management, service variations, and contract documentation to ensure suppliers comply with their contractual obligations, including performance standards, and providing cost effective and efficient services to customers.
- Develop, manage and implement a range of leading edge contract management processes in conjunction with the Contract Management team to optimise supplier relationships and contract compliance.
- Participate in the effective delivery of end to end sourcing capability through commercial contract execution activities to develop and refine contract management strategies.
- Lead and oversee the associated interfaces within Transport for NSW for the operators.

**About you**
You will have the ability to work independently and contribute effectively, whilst maintaining a high level of work ethic. We are looking for someone who has strong commercial and contract management skills or demonstrated commercial acumen and contract administration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for the role. You will be able to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relations across multiple internal and external sources, and leverage these relationships to seek the appropriate advice and information required to inform your decisions, as well as negotiate outcomes and overcome challenges.
The role requires experience in providing high-level contract and commercial management services, and you will be skilled at managing the contract lifecycle end to end, ideally with exposure to an operations environment. It is essential that you have an understanding and knowledge of resolving issues that arise in managing contractor performance to deliver solutions which will allow effective business management while complying with contract management standards.
The home location for this role is our Elizabeth Street office in the Sydney CBD and the team currently get together twice a week in the office. You will be required to attend regular meetings with the Contractor on a face to face basis. Transport for NSW offers flexible working arrangements and supports a balance of office and work from home options.
