**Job Ad: Technical Writer (12-Month Contract)**

**Location(s)**: Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide
**Work Conditions**: Flexible (Hybrid options available)
**Duration**: 12 Months
**Clearance Level Required**: Baseline / NV1/NV2

We are seeking an experienced **Technical Writer** to join our team on a 12-month contract. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for writing, editing, and maintaining a range of technical documentation, including user manuals, API documentation, process guides, knowledge bases, and training materials.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Write and maintain clear, concise, and user-friendly technical documents for diverse audiences (developers, engineers, and end-users).
- Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language, ensuring understanding across all skill levels.
- Develop operational procedures and ensure accurate documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement documentation best practices, including indexing, tagging, and search optimization to enhance content accessibility.
- Ensure all documentation complies with defence writing standards, style guides, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and deliver high-quality documentation.

**Skills & Capabilities**:

- Proven experience in writing and maintaining technical documents.
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Strong knowledge of documentation best practices and content management techniques.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as Confluence, Markdown, or Git (desired).
- Adherence to defence writing standards and other industry guidelines (must-have).
