You will be required to undertake the duties of Explosives Inspector as defined in the Explosives Act 1999 and the Explosives Regulation 2017 including the consistent use of powers.
- Demonstrated practical experience within explosives industries, mining and/or technical and health and safety.
- Demonstrated ongoing professional development through technical and health and safety training or equivalent.
- Experience with shift work, on call or after hours roster arrangements.
Essential / desirable requirements
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, mechanical or science is desirable. Medical assessment and security clearance required. Current open Australian drivers' licence is essential for regular, regional travel.
Participate in the Regional Explosives Inspectorate's emergency response program including a ready availability to respond on a 24 / 7 basis, and undertake the explosives render safe, recovery and disposal service provided by the Inspectorate.
Explosive Inspectors are entitled to receive an out-of-hours allowance of $7769 per annum (paid fortnightly) to compensate for being on call for 7 days/nights per week and for overtime performed on Mondays to Fridays (excluding public holidays) outside ordinary hours.
