As a member of the Centre of Excellence for Biosecurity Risk Analysis (CEBRA) and affiliated with the Melbourne Centre for Data Science (MCDS), you will have the chance to collaborate on research projects in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), focusing on environmental management, biosecurity, and public health. With support from a dedicated team, you will immerse yourself in the vital science of enhancing risk-based decision-making in uncertain environments. Your responsibilities will include: - The conduct of research and contribution to knowledge through scholarship, cross-disciplinary or industry collaboration, refereed publication, and presentations. High level collaboration required. - Prepare technical reports, conference and seminar papers and publications associated with research projects. - Contribute to training, scientific mentoring and supervision of students **Who We Are Looking For** You are a highly effective communicator with demonstrated excellence in presenting research results and manuscript submissions. You will also have: - Completion (or near) of a PhD in applied statistics, operations research, applied mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience - An emerging research track record and recognition of high-quality research outputs, as evidenced by publications and the development of research initiatives, commensurate with experience and opportunities - Demonstrated capacity to communicate research concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
