Beaumont People are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer for an exciting opportunity with immediate start. The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing and monitoring stock levels of hospital supplies (pharmacy, disposables, cleaning, staff amenities) and small equipment across three sites.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage supplier and site relationships
- Source supplies and equipment, identify equivalent substitutes, obtain and negotiate competitive quotes, and present to stakeholders
- Raise and manage purchase orders
- Place orders and track order progress to ensure timely delivery
- Manage and resolve all purchased item related non-conformances
- Deal with supplier enquires
- Ensure supplier details and pricing are always kept up to date
- Follow up on credits
- Coordinate freight of supplies to site/s
- Monitor minimum stock levels at all times
- Ensure stock levels are correctly entered and maintained on system
- Assist the Finance Officer with Accounts Payable transactions
- Filing and archiving of all records in confidential and secure manner
- Attend and contribute to required meetings
- Prepare end of month and other reports as required
- Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of best practice policies and procedures
- Full PD will be provided

**About You**:

- Love of animals
- Previous demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Previous demonstrated experience in purchasing and stock/inventory management in a systems-based environment
- Previous experience in the medical industry is highly regarded
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively respond to new and dynamic situations and circumstances
- Ability to build sound working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Previous demonstrated experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Intermediate to advances Excel skills.
- Ability to undertake some physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling (of stock items)
- Ability to travel between three sites (Jindalee, Underwood and Carrara)
- Hold a QLD Drivers Licence
