We have a great opportunity for a new intake of Trainee Correctional Officers to join our dedicated team based onsite at Parklea Correctional Centre.

**ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE**

As a Trainee Correctional Officer, you will undertake a 10-week paid training program which will give you the tools and knowledge to ensure the safety, security, and good order of the Centre. You will be integral in delivering services that enable inmates to improve their lives and reintegrate successfully into our communities. You will also commence your Certificate III in Correctional Practice with ongoing training and support to assist you in finishing this qualification within 12 months.

**In your new role, you will**:

- Observe and assess inmate activities and behaviour in residential areas, industries, recreational and other locations, monitoring and responding to unsafe, non-compliant and at-risk behaviours to maximise safety and security and minimise incidents
- Complete documentation, reporting and administrative duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, including immediate reporting of incidents where required, use of online system for inmate and intelligence data, and use of communication tools in Centre
- Respond to inmate enquiries and complaints respectfully and in accordance with defined policies & procedures and timeline promote workplace health and safety in the workplace
- Ensure inmates are processed, moved, and accommodated in a safe, secure, and in a timely manner and assist with the intake, induction, and discharge of inmates from the facility
- Building respectful relationships with inmates, staff, and stakeholders

- Gain and retain all police/security clearances required within our industry
- Proven right to work in Australia

You will be required to pass any required health assessments and undergo alcohol and drug testing as required by the business.
