About the role:

As a Logistics Officer you will be responsible for warehouse & logistical operations, meal deliveries, stock control/rotation and management.

Key Responsibilities:

The following key responsibilities are provided as a general guide in relation to the requirements and objectives of this position, including but not limited to:

• Observe, supervise and assess inmate / team activities and behaviour, and report unsafe, non-compliant and at-risk behaviours to maximise safety and security and minimise incidents
• Respond appropriately and effectively to events and incidents
• Physically and digitally accept and offload incoming supplies at the warehouse
• Unpack boxes, crates, and various containers to verify that received goods align with the purchase order
• Move stock and meals across the Centre using forklifts, various material handling equipment and trailers
• Adaptable to work in other departments as needed, following safety rules and guidelines
• Work both autonomously and as part of a team – particularly during roster changeovers or under emergency coordination conditions

Key Requirements:

• At least 6 months + demonstrated previous experience of working in a warehouse facility is necessary. Experience working in a correctional environment is desirable
• Hold a current valid manual Australian driver's licence (essential)
• Hold a current High Risk Forklift license (essential)
• Safe food handling certification, or ability to obtain and maintain
• Ability to visit and work within a correctional or regional processing centre
• Ability to perform in a manner consistent with attitudes and behaviours that need to be modelled in a correctional environment
• Demonstrate empathy, cultural understanding, and the abilities to connect, build appropriate relationships, influence, negotiate and navigate interpersonal differences with inmates, peers, and others
