About the role:
As a Logistics Officer you will be responsible for warehouse & logistical operations, meal deliveries, stock control/rotation and management.
Key Responsibilities:
The following key responsibilities are provided as a general guide in relation to the requirements and objectives of this position, including but not limited to:
- Observe, supervise and assess inmate / team activities and behaviour, and report unsafe, non-compliant and at-risk behaviours to maximise safety and security and minimise incidents
- Respond appropriately and effectively to events and incidents
- Physically and digitally accept and offload incoming supplies at the warehouse
- Unpack boxes, crates, and various containers to verify that received goods align with the purchase order
- Move stock and meals across the Centre using forklifts, various material handling equipment and trailers
- Adaptable to work in other departments as needed, following safety rules and guidelines
- Work both autonomously and as part of a team – particularly during roster changeovers or under emergency coordination conditions
Key Requirements:
- At least 6 months + demonstrated previous experience of working in a warehouse facility is necessary. Experience working in a correctional environment is desirable
- Hold a current valid manual Australian driver's licence (essential)
- Hold a current High Risk Forklift license (essential)
- Safe food handling certification, or ability to obtain and maintain
- Ability to visit and work within a correctional or regional processing centre
- Ability to perform in a manner consistent with attitudes and behaviours that need to be modelled in a correctional environment
- Demonstrate empathy, cultural understanding, and the abilities to connect, build appropriate relationships, influence, negotiate and navigate interpersonal differences with inmates, peers, and others
