The Department of Resources is an influential economic development department that advocates in the public interest. Its purpose is to capitalise on Queensland's resources for sustainable economic prosperity and just outcomes for all Queenslanders.
Georesources Policy drives the delivery of the department's vision across the georesources portfolio by leading the development and implementation of forwardlooking and effective policy solutions and program delivery for Queensland's petroleum, gas and mining sectors.
Operating within Georesources Policy you will be involved in delivering the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan, as well as a number of other key initiatives related to the petroleum, gas and mining industry. The Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan is a plan for growth and transformation of Queensland's resources industry; it outlines a 30-year vision for Queensland's resources industry and includes a range of actions for both government and industry to undertake over the short and medium term to realise this vision.
You will have the opportunity to lead and deliver a number of the actions within the Plan. You will provide high-level policy support, advice and guidance on mining and petroleum policy and legislative issues.
This work being conducted has a direct alignment with the following objective from the 2021-25 Department of Resources Strategic Plan:

- Increased and diversified private sector investment in georesources - by working with stakeholders to plan the future of the resources industry and deliver the resources industry development plan.

Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Support the delivery of programs and projects to meet departmental and broader government objectives.
- Prepare and/or contribute to the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry and non-government organisations to achieve policy outcomes and deliver on government commitments.
- Represent the department at meetings, committees and interdepartmental working groups as required.
- Other duties as directed and required.
