A fantastic opportunity at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as the Executive Manager Commercial Contract Development and Management, reporting to the General Manager, Commercial and Contract Management, where you will join the Commercial and Contract Management Team, a key pillar within the Customer, Products and Marketing (CPM) business unit.
A bit about your role
The role of EM Commercial Contract Development and Management is to lead the team by designing the commercial constructs and defining the contractual frameworks to support the entire fibre on demand operation so that the End Customer Commercial & Opportunity Management, RSP Commercial, Enterprise & Government and RSP teams can support the customers in their fibre on demand requirements by turning opportunities into nbn revenue. The role also works together with the Compliance and Governance pillar in meeting nbn’s compliance obligations and providing input in establishing relevant processes within the broader team.
The role is responsible for supporting the change and development of nbn suite of fibre on demand products, the change and improvements of commercial deals contract and management of the consultation process in relation to the contractual changes and in designing any new contractual construct. This role is also integral to ensure regulatory compliance by supporting the internal and external audit requirements and communicating any change to the RSPs on the regular basis. The success of the entire team is dependent on the right framework and constructs being designed and implemented. It is also expected that the role will set strategic direction of various contractual framework based on analysis of existing contractual arrangement and any newly identified contractual opportunities.
As the leader of the Commercial Contract Development and Management, you will have overall accountability for the leadership of the people in the team, the management of the processes used by the team and the performance of the team’s responsibilities, including workloads and competing priorities. You will be expected to provide strategic leadership on the company’s commercial positions and priorities as they relate to the entirety of on demand build offers, as well as sponsorship of strategic initiatives being developed and implemented by the team. You will be required to act as an effective first point of escalation for a wide range of matters arising from contract negotiations, commercial development of strategic initiatives and broader customer, internal and external stakeholder engagements.
A bit about you
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive commercial experience in the telecommunications or equivalent industry. An excellent understanding of the Australian telecommunications industry and Australian telecommunications regulations; as well as demonstrated ability to analyse, problem solve and achieve outcomes in this context.
You will have an exceptional ability to develop commercial deals, offers and arrangements, and balance complex commercial, operational, legal and regulatory imperatives. You will have an exceptional ability to negotiate complex commercial, operational and technical outcomes, and to engage bilaterally with customers and multilaterally with industry to agree on deals, offers and arrangements.
You will have well developed people leadership skills and previous experience directly managing teams of highly skilled individual contributors. The role requires exceptional stakeholder management skills, applied project management and self-management skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with nearly all the company’s business units.
Experience in working directly with senior executives and management within the organisation and within customer and external stakeholder organisations is essential.
