About the Role: *

As a **Data Communications Technician** with PEER*, you will receive training and gain relevant competencies whilst assisting in the construction, maintenance and operation of equipment relating to the Data Communications industry.

*
Duties Include: *
- Telecommunications systems and infrastructure
- Optical fibre and structured cabling
- Security systems
- Computers & networking

**To become a PEER Apprentice, you need to**:

- Full Australian Work rights
- Hold a current drivers licence and reliable vehicle
- Be able to drive a manual vehicle
- Be physically fit and able to carry out manual handling activities
- Have completed a Certificate II trade related course or,
- Be prepared to complete a PEER Pre-App course
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to pass Working With Children Check
- Have good numeracy and literacy skills
- Be committed to a nominal four-year training contract to achieve
- UEE30411 Certificate III in Voice & Data Communications
