ASI Physiology is a mobile healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exercise-based interventions across Melbourne's southeastern, eastern, northern, and occasional western regions. We specialise in exercise science and rehabilitation, supporting individuals in their homes, community centers, gyms, and outdoor spaces. Our services cater to a diverse range of clients, including NDIS participants, Medicare and private referrals, aged care clients, and local sporting clubs.

This role operates 1 to 3 days per week as a subcontractor, with compensation for travel expenses between clients.

Job Purpose and Scope

As a subcontracted Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering individualized exercise-based treatments to clients with chronic conditions, disabilities, injuries, and other functional impairments. You will collaborate with physiotherapists, support coordinators, GPs, and other allied health professionals to ensure holistic client care.

This mobile role requires you to travel between client locations, providing personalized, evidence-based exercise interventions aimed at improving strength, mobility, and overall quality of life.

- GP Referrals (Medicare, Private)
- NDIS Participants (Self, Plan, and Agency Managed)
- Home Care Package Clients
- Private Clients (Return-to-Work, Injury Prevention, Strength & Conditioning)
- Local Sporting Clubs (Injury Rehabilitation & Performance Training)

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive exercise physiology assessments to evaluate functional capacity, mobility, and strength.
- Develop individualized exercise treatment plans for clients with chronic conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, cardiovascular conditions, and disability-related mobility challenges.
- Provide 1-on-1 and group-based exercise therapy sessions, ensuring safe and effective progressions.
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to assist in pain management, functional independence, and long-term health improvements.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, support workers, GPs, and other allied health professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate clients and caregivers on safe exercise techniques, rehabilitation strategies, and injury prevention.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and reports using ShiftCare or other clinical documentation systems.
- Stay updated with the latest research and industry trends to continuously enhance treatment approaches.

Duties
- Conduct initial assessments and functional capacity evaluations for a variety of conditions.
- Design goal-oriented exercise rehabilitation programs for NDIS, aged care, and private clients.
- Deliver exercise interventions in diverse settings (homes, gyms, outdoor spaces, and community centers).
- Monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Provide education on movement, biomechanics, and self-management strategies to empower clients.
- Support sports rehabilitation and injury prevention programs for athletes and active individuals.
- Participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations, confidentiality, and ethical standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) - ESSA Registration Required
- Bachelor's and Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science
- Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check
- Strong understanding of NDIS, Medicare, and private funding schemes
- Prior experience in clinical, community, or sports rehabilitation settings is highly desirable
