The Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) has the public responsibility of managing one of the largest and the most successful stadiums in Australia and the world - the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The MCG is more than just a stadium, it's an Australian icon and a meeting place for generations past, present and future.
The MCG is host to more than 70 major events and attracts over four million visitors annually. The MCC is the largest sporting club in the country with over 150,000 members and also manages 14 sporting sections with participation over 2,600. The Australian Sports Museum (ASM) has its home at the MCG, celebrating the country's rich sporting history, which is also managed by the MCC.
**About the team and role**
The Commercial Operations & Partnerships Department is responsible for the MCC's marketing initiatives, communications, publicity, issues management, community partnerships, corporate sales, business development, advertising, merchandise and commercial arrangements with sponsors, suppliers and partners.
Due to a recent restructure of this department, we have a newly created job opportunity that we have aligned to our strategic plan, for an experienced **Digital Communications Manager**. Reporting to the Executive Manager (EM) - Corporate Affairs, Marketing & Community, this role's goal is dedicated to the continuous development, implementation and management of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and Australian Sports Museum's suite of digital assets and channels to grow audiences based on the strategic objectives.
The role leads a team of content, digital and social media specialists who will amplify the messages, campaigns and promotional initiatives from the corporate affairs, marketing and community streams. With a particular focus on developing and producing content for MCC members, the role will have oversight in ensuring best practice processes and updates are filtered through the Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Community teams. In addition, the role will be responsible for overseeing the content on the MCC staff intranet and internal communications channels.
This role also has high visibility and liaises across the business and with key partners and stakeholders, including AFL, Cricket Australia, special event providers, MCG tenant clubs and the MCC's commercial partners.
Please note this role may be required to work outside of normal business hours aligned with the MCG's event day support system and on other activities that form a part of this role.
**Responsibilities that you will also lead & be involved in **(however not limited to)**:
- Collaborating with the Brand & Marketing Manager and the Corporate Affairs & Media Manager to ensure the streams are aligned with priorities and upcoming campaigns, announcements and products.
- Collaborating with MCG venue hirers to understand their digital strategy and objectives to enhance events held at the venue with the ultimate goal to increase ticket sales and engagement.
- Editor for the MCG, MCC and Australian Sports Museum websites to ensure best practice is met, a high level of user experience is detailed and a long-term plan for maintenance is embedded.
- Overseeing the content and internal communications on the MCC's staff intranet ClubHub.
- Management the external videography team to answer and produce content based on internal projects.
- Assist with managing the production of monthly digital executive and board reports
**You will bring to this role**:
It is important that you have previous experience working as a digital communications expert in a similar or relevant industry. You will have team management experience and be a collaborative leader that has great drive and inspires others to achieve goals which are aligned to the delivery of the strategic goals. You will also have a collaborative approach to your work, with an ability to develop meaningful and strong working partnerships/ relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. In addition, you will have demonstrated well-developed communication skills both written and verbal with experience in using the written word to engage, influence, inspire, and to brief across various styles.
It is also essential you have:
- Experience in effective copywriting for digital advertising, web and EDM.
- Proven track record in generating creative ideas in a collaborative environment.
- Previous experience in working to deadlines and keeping to pace while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
