**The Role**
Responsible to the General Managers of Operations and People, the Workplace Health Safety Compliance and Environment Manager delivers work, health, safety and wellbeing services, and compliance and environment advice and solutions that enable positive people and organisational outcomes, for Omni’s employees, clients, customers and stakeholders in line with all regulatory standards.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Oversee and ensure compliance with Company Quality and Safety Management Systems, including the requirement to conduct regular audits, implement corrective actions, develop or update policy and procedure, and monitor reporting mechanisms.
- Lead Omni-wide safety initiatives by conducting quarterly HSR and Environment meetings, managing resources, facilitating employee engagement, and maintaining a safe work environment in line with WHS regulations.
- Monitor and maintain adherence to state and regulatory requirements, while keeping the Accountable Managers informed of any unresolved discrepancies.
- Develop, implement, and assess the effectiveness of quality audit programs, emergency procedures, and WHS and Environment systems to drive continuous improvement.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure access to information and support to enhance employee wellbeing, engagement, and performance, including developing and maintaining Omni’s annual Wellbeing Calendar.
- Implement and manage Omni’s return-to-work program, supporting workers during recovery, assisting with compensation claims, and ensuring employer compliance with workers' compensation legislation.
- Hold Omni employees accountable for maintaining safety standards and contribute to external audits and safety meetings.
- Provide direction, guidance, advice and mentoring to Omni employees allocated WHS, Wellbeing and/or other types of governance appointments, and ensure positions are backfilled in cases of employees going on long leave or resigning.
- Schedule and oversee the conduct of governance training sessions for Omni employees identified for governance appointments.
- A high degree of integrity and a commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet objectives and targets for our clients
- High level technical writing skills
- A strong commitment to upholding Omni’s values and ethical standards.

**Essential Requirements**
The below key requirements are required to be demonstrated by all employees to Omni.
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Ability to hold and maintain a minimum NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and relationship building skills

**This role will require**:

- Minimum Cert IV Qualification in Work Health and Safety
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Demonstrated WHS and compliance experience
- Demonstrated experience in the management of workers compensation and understanding of the relevant legislation

**In addition, it would be desirable to hold**:

- Workcover Introduction to Return to Work Coordination certificate
- Completion of a Lead or Internal auditor course
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
