**The Position**

This position is a continuing appointment, that supports the Research School of Chemistry (RSC) vision by optimising health & safety practices and operational activities to comply with the _Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2011_ (Commonwealth). A strong WHS culture is paramount to enabling the RSC community to deliver safe education, research and engagement.

The WHS Consultant will:

- be familiar with the School activities (research, teaching and administration) and provide interpretation of the University WHS management System (WHSMS) to maintain a safe work environment in teaching and research facilities - laboratories, workshops and administration spaces.
- assist in ensuring legislative compliance is achieved through advising, collaborating and engaging with the RSC community and the ANU Work Environment Group.
- promote and coordinate: WHS, chemical management and wellbeing initiatives across RSC.

**The Person**

We are looking for a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to quickly develop productive, professional relationships with colleagues and clients. Highly developed organisational skills and effective self-management are key. We are looking for someone who can provide accurate policy advice and coach clients through detailed processes.
