**Budget Strategy Group**
The Budget Strategy Group maintains a central role in supporting sound financial management in Victoria.
The Gender Responsive Budgeting Unit sits within the Financial Frameworks team and works to embed gender impact analysis in the Government's budget decision-making processes and to ensure outcomes for women are measured as part of the budget decision-making process.
**About the role**
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Gender Responsive Budgeting Unit, this two-year fixed term opportunity is responsible for:
- Leading the continued development and implementation of gender responsive budgeting within whole of government frameworks, policies and processes.
- Producing high-quality advice on significant economic and social policy issues impacting gender equality, the impact of government resource allocation on gender equality and provide influential advice to senior executives.
- Managing the preparation of methodologies or tools to assess the impact of State budgets on gender equality over time.
- Presenting persuasive policy and economic arguments and analyses, both verbal and written, to senior executives and other key stakeholders.
- Leading the development and delivery of capability programs across the Victorian Public Sector to increase capability across departments to identify, develop and implement polices with a gender responsive approach and to prepare business cases with gender inclusive considerations.
- Confidently representing DTF at forums and establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in DTF, and across departments and agencies, often at senior levels.
- Contributing to projects relating to budget and financial management processes and policy.
- Contributing to key State Budget products.
**About you**
- Demonstrated strong conceptual, research and problem-solving skills with knowledge in gender based economic and social policy analysis.
- Achieving outcomes through excellent oral and written communication skills and a capability to present persuasive economic and social policy advice to senior executives.
- Proven ability to negotiate and influence others to achieve strategic objectives; and high-level capability in building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, finding new ways to deliver outcomes.
Experience and qualifications
A relevant tertiary qualification, for example, economics, public policy, law, accounting, etc. Post graduate level qualifications in economics would be highly regarded.
Experience in training, capability development or workshop facilitation; or change management, would be an advantage.
