The Principal Finance & Reporting Analyst is responsible for translating the ICT operations into financial management and reporting for the ICT Project Portfolio, including funding, budget allocation, forecasting, actuals, and accruals. as well as undertaking ad hoc financial analysis and modelling.
This newly created position will play an integral role in ensuring the Strategy and Design Unit manages financial analysis and reporting for the ICT Project Portfolio as part of the Mid and End-of-Year review processes. The role will also be required to undertake ad hoc financial analysis and modelling.
In addition, the position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining advanced financial systems that support delivery of the ICT portfolio of projects in collaboration with Program Managers and key stakeholders.

Accountabilities
- Provide overall financial management and reporting for the unit, including funding, budget allocation, forecasting, actuals, and accruals. Where possible, common approaches and processes are highly desirable.
- Financial reporting to various governance groups, including Board meetings, financial reports, briefings and other ad hoc reports and correspondence.
- Maintain an advanced understanding of current, best-practice in financial management and services.
- Routinely provide authoritative, expert advice to senior leadership on finance policy, risks trends and provide solutions and options for decision-making.
- Comply with the Financial Management Act 1994 and other relevant legislation, regulations and government directives, policies, and guidelines.
- Provide strategic thinking and future planning and oversee change management initiatives and integrated approaches to enhance compliance with department-wide policies.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
- Undertaking other tasks relevant to the branch's functions as required.
