Provide technical advice and input during the packaging design and production artwork phase, including but not limited to:
Modifications of artwork files to match print specifications
Color management
Color substitutions from spot colors to CMYK (and vice versa)
Utilising reprographics techniques (such as trapping, etc.)
Quality control of artwork at the preflight and prepress stages
Liaise directly with printers on the printer qualification (fingerprint), colour management, structure and materials
Suggest practical ways to solve various print, color, quality, and production issues
Manage multiple stakeholders internally and externally to ensure projects are delivered on time
Continuously improve workflow processes to ensure quality and consistency of all printed materials
Tertiary Education in Printing Technologies
3+ years progressive print production experience with creative/ packaging design agencies
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in Gravure and Flexographic printing technologies
Knowledge of color management software (GMG and Pantone Live)
Knowledge of design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and prior experience in graphic design and/or prepress is highly advantageous
Experience in managing the complete Printer Qualification (fingerprinting) process
Strong client management and negotiation skills, prior client management/client facing experience is highly advantageous
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients and printing suppliers
Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
