**The Role**

The purpose of this role is to add value to the business by protecting and enhancing the company’s reputation via media and other external communications channels. You will also support the business in maintaining our high levels of trust with customers, stakeholders, industry and shareholders, while assisting in building our credentials in sustainable growth and leadership in responsibility.

We are seeking a super enthusiastic individual with a background in media and PR, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team, capable of 'getting ahead' of issues - really picking up on news trends and living and breathing the news cycle, always looking to identify opportunities to drive positive media attention.

**What you'll be doing**

**Press office function**
- Advise senior executive leadership and business divisions on effective media relations and PR;
- Advise on and participate in key events including media briefings and interviews;
- Ensure seamless delivery and consistency via external channels (traditional media and social media);
- Daily media engagement - both proactive and reactive;
- Ensure prompt response to media enquiries relating to Endeavour Group and its brands; and

**Proactive and reactive communications**
- Work with the Head of External Communications to deliver the media and communications component of the Group's Corporate Affairs strategy;
- Work with the Head of Internal Communications to support a proactive and consistent communications strategy for Endeavour Group and its various business units as required;
- Support business units in developing integrated communications and PR campaigns for brands, events, and other key activities;
- Support the preparation of responses to significant issues, particularly as they relate to the Group's reputation, divisions and brands; and
- Be one of the key contacts for crisis and emergency management and communications.

**External engagement**
- Maintain an appropriate network among consumer, lifestyle, business, news and drinks media, commentators and other key influencers.

**About you**
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in applicable field (business, communications, journalism, policy);
- 7 years’ minimum experience in one or more of the following fields: corporate affairs, consumer PR, journalism, stakeholder management across media or consultancies);
- Proven ability and skills to managing all short and long term media enquiries, both negative and positive.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills - releases, Q&As, speeches, key messaging.
- Identifying opportunities to drive positive media attention including publicly profiling senior leadership and developing plans to leverage core Group announcements.
- Ability to work closely with external agencies and advisors to coordinate and maximise positive publicity for announcements.
- Actively contributing to the development of key short, medium and long term strategic communications plans and execute to deal with complex issues and environments.
- Excellent organisational skills and a strong client service focus and business acumen
- Existing media network;
- Experience in liquor, gaming or hospitality desirable.
