Questacon’s Science and Learning branch is responsible for the quality and creative direction, national strategic engagement and impact of Questacon’s Science and Learning activities. The branch delivers a wide range of Questacon’s successful exhibitions and programs and connects communities across Australia with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) opportunities through place-based sustainable collaboration, building networks of locally led STEM learning ecosystems into the future so all Australians can access Questacon - wherever they are.

**About the team**:
The National Touring Programs team delivers a range of hands-on & interactive STEM activities to increase student and community engagement with science, technology, engineering and maths. Activities include student workshops, science shows, pop-up science centres and professional learning, and are delivered in-person or via video conference to audiences in Canberra and throughout metropolitan, regional and remote parts of Australia.

Activities include:

- Questacon Science Circus primary-school science shows - captivating performances for students showcasing some of the wondrous science in the world around them.
- Innovation workshops for high-school students - STEM challenges designed to develop student inquiry and problem solving skills, communication and confidence.
- Pop-up science centres - supporting regional communities to have a taste of Questacon, with hands-on exhibits and spectacular science shows to engage the whole family.
- Skill development workshops for educators - in-person and video conference workshops supporting the development of inquiry based learning techniques.
- Strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to motivate and support a large and diverse team to achieve results through good direction, mentoring and coaching.
- Experience managing the coordination and planning of complex projects, demonstrating excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to support several project teams concurrently.
- Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for decisions, using initiative and working independently under mínimal supervision, including under time pressure and during periods of travel.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to positive team culture.

Experience coordinating, leading, and/or delivering STEM engagement activities is not essential, however, would be advantageous.

**What you will do**:
Working consistently within the expectations for an APS Level 6 in the APS Work Level Standards, Team Leaders will:

- Take responsibility for the successful planning and delivery of logistics and the operations of complex national touring programs and activities, working closely with the rest of the coordination team.
- Develop project plans and delivery timelines, assess risks, define goals, and identify measures of success for the project and team.
- Provide clear work tasks and meaningful direction to the program delivery team, and identify development and training requirements to ensure a high level of team capability.
- Guide, motivate and support the development and wellbeing of project coordinators and peers across a large team working on multiple concurrent projects.
- Effectively allocate and monitor resources, including staff, equipment and budget.
- Proactively identify problems, risks, and improvements, with a solutions-focused approach to unexpected change, to ensure the best outcomes for the program and our
