**The opportunity**

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will lead a dynamic department that champions community wellbeing through innovative service delivery, strategic planning and strong partnerships. You will oversee a team of Coordinators and Officers, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our services are responsive, inclusive and sustainable.

You’ll be at the forefront of shaping how Hobsons Bay supports its residents—especially those with additional needs, from CALD backgrounds, Indigenous communities, and those experiencing social or economic hardship.

**What you’ll be working on**

Leading from the front, you will;
- Lead, mentor and empower a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality community services
- Drive strategic planning and continuous improvement across early years, youth, aged and disability services
- Develop and implement contemporary service models that reflect emerging community needs
- Promote Hobsons Bay’s services to government, community organisations and residents
- Identify and pursue new partnerships and funding opportunities
- Provide expert advice to Council, the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
- Manage budgets, business plans and performance reporting aligned with Council priorities

**What you need to succeed**
**You are a visionary leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will bring:

- A tertiary qualification in community services, family or children’s services, or a related field
- Proven experience managing diverse community service programs
- Strong financial and operational management skills
- Deep understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- A commitment to equity, inclusion and community-first service delivery
