Hobsons Bay City Council is seeking an experienced and passionate **Coordinator Community Support** to join the Community Life department’s leadership team, and to oversee services for older people, people with disabilities, and their carers. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community while managing a dedicated team and overseeing government-funded programs.
**About the Role**
As the **Coordinator Community Support**, you will manage a team of approximately 15 EFT staff and 35 volunteers, ensuring the effective delivery of services including delivered meals, social support groups, community transport, home maintenance and seniors events. You will also advocate for the health and wellbeing of our senior residents and people with disabilities through strategic partnerships and community engagement.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of government-funded services, seniors groups and events.
- Manage contracts and service agreements, preparing reports for state and federal governments.
- Develop and implement service and business plans to meet community needs.
- Monitor budgets and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Provide senior management with advice on aged care reforms and future service delivery.
- Seek funding for positive ageing and wellbeing initiatives.
**About You**
- A **tertiary qualification** in management, health, social sciences, or related fields.
- Significant experience in **planning and delivering aged services**.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams to achieve outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Knowledge of government funding frameworks and aged care policies.
