**About the Team**

The Workplace strategy team is newly created and sits within the People and Culture division. The team is responsible for developing portfolio and occupancy strategies to optimise use of the Transport workspaces supported by data and research. The team also leads the creation of design strategies and standards to provide workplaces that support hybrid ways of working, promote collaboration and productivity and enhance the workplace experience for all.

**The opportunity**

We** **have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Workplace Design Strategy to join the Workplace strategy team.

The role is responsible for leading the interior design strategy for the Transport cluster to drive innovative design solutions for workplaces that foster employee engagement and collaboration.

Working closely with the broader Design Team (based in the Delivery function) this role will lead the creation and ongoing maintenance of design standards for Transport workplaces to support the changing needs of the workforce and to support hybrid ways of working.

Key accountabilities:

- Lead the creation of the workplace interior design standards to ensure Transport’s workplaces of the future meet the changing needs of the workforce and to support hybrid ways of working.
- Lead the engagement with IT and technology teams on the integration of new technologies into the workplace with user experience being paramount.
- Provide strategic design standards and solutions to ensure they align to design objectives creating an inclusive & ergonomic environment whilst also considering sustainability, Aboriginal engagement & heritage considerations.
- Management of external designers and other professional service consultants directly including interior designers / graphic designers and other specialist consultants as required.
- Research to provide best practice workplace strategies to make transport more effective and agile in line with Transports strategy and employee needs.
- Utilise and review technology and the digitisation of work to support ease of use of the office space and ensure the workplace meets the needs of a changing workforce
- Prepare standard FF&E budgets to feed into high level strategies or PM cost estimates with consideration to cost effective solutions.

**About you**

You are an experienced Design Manager or Interior Designer looking to make a difference at Transport for NSW.

You will have a **passion for design** and **qualifications in Interior Design**. You will also have had previous **experience in commercial workplace design with a (focus on hybrid ways of working).**

You will also boast **exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills**.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- Qualifications in Interior Design
- Demonstrated experience in commercial workplace design with a (focus on hybrid ways of working) - ideally in a large organisation
- Exceptional communication & stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated success in influencing appropriate stakeholders, including senior leaders, to effectively present proposals relating to design solutions in achieving optimal corporate goals and innovative technology solutions for connectivity across the business amid new ways of working.
- Previous experience with design programs like MS PP InDesign, adobe suite, AutoCAD, or similar

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Grade 9A ($142,178) - 9E ($159,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
