**Employment Opportunity**

The Performance and Wellbeing Section (PeWe) has an opportunity for a Work Health and Safety Advisor / Allied Health Professional (APS Level 6 classification). The role has responsibility for specialist Work Health and Safety (WHS) assessments, and advice and support to departmental employees. Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

- providing advice to Human Resources colleagues to ensure we embed workplace adjustments into all aspects of the employment life cycle
- providing workplace adjustment and early intervention support to employees who are injured, ill or live with disability
- coordinating the Department's Access and Inclusion Officers
- conducting workstation assessments for staff with disability, injury or illness
- developing resources and providing support to departmental wellbeing and safety initiatives (e.g. Disability and Mental Health Action Plan and the Employee Assistance Program)
- responding to WHS incidents and review / action WHS risk assessments relevant to departmental activities
- contributing to the review and maintenance of the work health and safety management system
- supervision of an administration officer.

Broadly, PeWe includes a wide range of responsibilities including managing the internal performance framework, diversity and inclusion, flexibility and wellbeing as well as case management. We are open to a range of flexible work arrangements including working from home, study leave, part-time, job-sharing and flexible work hours.

- experience working in a legal / policy agency
- experience providing work health and safety advice and workplace adjustment support
- strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), and have the ability to foster a positive team culture and build positive stakeholder relationships
- an agile approach to managing multiple tasks and strong organisational skills
- an ability to deal with highly sensitive situations
- a desire and flexibility to undertake other functions to support work of the broader Performance and Wellbeing section

Other qualifications (required): Relevant tertiary allied health qualification (exercise physiology, occupational therapy or physiotherapy) and current accreditation with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Exercise and Sports Science Australian (ESSA)
