Sydney, Australia Simple Machines Full time

**Position: Principal Product Manager**
**Location: Sydney, Australia**
**Work-Style: Darlinghurst Office, Hybrid**
**Simple Machines. Data Engineered to Life**

Simple Machines is a leading independent boutique technology firm with a global presence, including teams in London, Sydney, San Francisco, and New Zealand. We specialise in creating technology solutions at the intersection of data, AI, machine learning, data engineering, and software engineering.

Our mission is to help enterprises, technology companies, and governments better connect with and understand their organisations, their people, their customers, and citizens. We are a team of creative engineers and technologists dedicated to unleashing the potential of data in new and impactful ways.

We design and build bespoke data platforms and unique software products, create and deploy intelligent systems, and bring engineering expertise to life by transforming data into actionable insights and tangible outcomes.

**Requirements**:
We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our close-knit team of experts in Sydney to help deliver our client engagements as we scale our ANZ business.

If you excel in client facing roles, have a deep understanding of how modern software is built and delivered, and have a passion for all things Product then we’d love to hear from you.

Brief overview of the role’s responsibilities:

- Own the full product lifecycle, including discovery, development, release, and post deployment evaluation using data and feedback loops.
- Providing product management expertise within the team, leading the work that Simple Machines engineering teams do and providing advice to client stakeholders on how to build great products.
- Plan, initiate, and manage complex technology projects that enable clients to build innovative products and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on requirements, develop solutions, and drive key milestones.
- Delivering a valuable product to our clients by helping them to realise and measure the benefit of the solutions the team are building.
- Maintain strong client relationships, providing advisory expertise and helping to enhance Simple Machines' reputation with the client and in the market.

**What we need from you**

You will love and excel in this role if you:

- Possess a refined understanding of modern software development — including technologies, frameworks, methods, and common challenges.
- Bring client-facing experience in Technology Consulting or a B2B Software Product company, whether as a consultant, sales engineer, or product professional collaborating with client teams.
- Have hands-on expertise across the product lifecycle, with experience across design, analysis, build, test and release phases.
- Communicate and influence effectively, tailoring information to different audiences and levels across the business in both written and verbal forms.
- Build relationships naturally, thriving in dynamic teams and new situations.
- Take a proactive approach to delivery, knowing how to prioritise, move work forward, and influence others to achieve outcomes.
- Are ambitious and growth-driven, excited by the opportunity to be part of a small, experienced team helping grow Simple Machines ANZ.
- Have experience with data-led decisioning products or machine-learning algorithms for business decisioning, this is preferred but not essential.
