Sydney, Australia LEAP Legal Software Full time

**About LEAP Profit**

LEAP Profit is a proud member of the LEAP group of companies - the world’s leading provider of Legal Practice Productivity Solutions. Over a 30-year period we've expanded across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Poland and New Zealand and support more than 100,000 lawyers and their staff in small and medium sized law firms. We owe our success to our curiosity and commitment to our guiding purpose, to ‘Help lawyers who help people’.

LEAP's clients are small, local law firms solving real world problems in their communities. They are run by people experienced in law, but not necessarily in running a business.

It’s complex to easily assess the profitability of their client base. The more profitable they are, the better they can service their clients and the better their business performs.

This is where LEAP Profit comes in. We will be utilising our in-house expertise and the power of AI, to help lawyers drive higher profitability within their business by helping them identify and attract the best clients for their law firm. LEAP Profit is planned to be an independent development team within LEAP product, and connect to the rest of the system via established APIs.

**What you'll do**

As Principal Product Manager, you’ll own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of LEAP Profit. You’ll lead discovery with firms, translating insights into a clear product strategy, and driving execution with engineering.

Your focus: build products that help law firms optimise profitability. This will be done by leveraging financial data, utilisation and AI to allow lawyers to understand their most profitable clients and help drive more of those clients to the law firm.

**To make this happen, you will**:

- Define the vision and product strategy for LEAP Profit across revenue‑gap analysis, unprofitable‑matters insights, and matter‑mix optimisation.
- Lead structured discovery with firm owners, practice managers, and fee earners to uncover pains, quantify impact, and shape problem statements and JTBD.
- Build and maintain an outcome‑oriented roadmap aligned to clear product metrics and commercial objectives; communicate priorities and trade‑offs to leadership.
- Partner with engineering and design to plan, deliver, and iterate high‑quality releases - balancing speed with reliability, security, and scale.
- Translate raw financial and operational data (time recording, WIP, debtors, write‑offs/discounts) into actionable recommendations and dashboards that drive behaviour change.
- Run structured betas and pilots, instrument usage and value metrics (adoption, lift in realisation, reduced write‑offs), and build the playbook to scale globally.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer teams on pricing/packaging, positioning, and enablement assets; support strategic deals and lighthouse wins.
- Influence senior internal stakeholders (product leadership, GM, finance, legal) and external partners to unblock decisions and accelerate outcomes.
- Ensure features meet privacy, security, and legal requirements, and align with internal ISMS/BCP practices where relevant.
- Establish a rigorous rhythm of business - OKRs, product reviews, post‑launch retros, and a transparent feedback loop with firms and field teams.

**What you'll bring**

You’ll have 10+ years in product roles with 3-5+ years at Senior/Principal level with experience in data‑driven SaaS; LegalTech or professional‑services. Along with:

- A track record leading zero‑to‑one and one‑to‑many products from discovery to scale with measurable commercial impact.
- Strong product sense and analytical depth - you’re comfortable with financial concepts (realisation, utilisation, WIP, debtors, write‑offs, pricing/discounting).
- Fluency in product discovery techniques (interviews, diary studies, hypothesis testing), experimentation, and instrumentation/telemetry.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, data, design, sales, and customer teams; credible technical depth to partner with senior engineers.

**You are the type of person who**
- Is concise in your verbal and written communication - sharing the what, the why and the how of what you are thinking and doing in all directions.
- Is commercially minded - you’re adept at balancing client value, unit economics, and scalable growth in pricing/packaging decisions.
- Has a bias to action with high ownership, resilience, and clarity under ambiguity; thrives in fast‑paced, high‑impact environments.

**Why join LEAP?**
- **Your work matters.** Helping lawyers help people sits at the heart of everything we do. We solve real world problems that improve and support local, everyday law firms. So they can do their best work for the people in the communities they serve.
- **Make an impact.**You won’t be another ‘cog in the wheel’ here. We give full trust and autonomy for you to be heard, to work on big & complex projects - and to make a real difference.
