**About the role**:
We not only trade, import and refine fuel but also manage complex supply chains and retail operations, working together to keep Australia moving.

The Business Improvement Lead is the driving force behind the complex process and systems improvement initiatives. The Improvement Lead will facilitate activities, empower and coach the broader Refinery team to build the capability and strengthen the business performance.

This is an exciting time to join the Business Improvement team and play a critical role in the delivery of key initiatives, showcase your skills through our capability uplift program and be involved in setting a pathway for Business Improvement within the Lytton Refinery.

**Key responsibilities;**
- Build improvement capability and culture through BI training, coaching and knowledge sharing with key stakeholders.
- Provide support and coaching to the Department teams in identifying, implementing and embedding key process and system improvement opportunities to drive efficiency.
- Deploy well-structured tools and methodologies (Lean, Agile, Six Sigma) to deliver cross functional improvement projects.
- Stewardship of the annual business planning process for the site and monitoring of delivery to plan.
- Definition and implementation of organisational performance standards under the requirements of Operational Excellence Management System.
- Design, document and implement business processes, standards, tools and metrics.
- Ensure adherence to the Refinery Management of Change process and control of changes.
- Foster and manage key stakeholder relationships and facilitate collaboration between manufacturing in the delivery of improvement initiates.

**About you**:
You are an open-minded change agent, with formal qualifications in Lean Six Sigma and demonstrated industry experience in coaching, facilitation and delivery of improvement projects. You have a demonstrated planning and coordinating skills, and well-developed organisational skills with the capacity to be flexible in balancing priorities to meet the needs of the Refinery.

Your experience and knowledge of the business planning process and management systems will guide you in the delivery of the Refinery systems improvements within the scope of the role.

You will bring a personal commitment to ongoing learning and development and continuous improvement. Your excellent influencing and communication skills combined with your understanding of an operations environment enable you to thrive and drive positive business outcomes. Key stakeholders will be varied across our internal and external operations, and we are looking for someone who can foster relationships and put improvement truly at the heart of what we do.

**Skills and experience**:

- Tertiary qualifications in science, management or engineering
- Qualifications and deep knowledge and understanding of Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) and Agile methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills within an operational environment.
- Ability to facilitate workshops and visual performance boards
- Application of change management principles and implementation of engagement/consultation processes
- Knowledge of statistical methods and understanding of statistical process control
- Knowledge of PowerBI and data visualisation tools
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and the ability to manage conflicts.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Well-developed organisational skills and the capacity to be flexible in balancing priorities to meet/exceed refinery/operation's needs.
- Previous experience in oil and gas or hazardous facility environment is desirable.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Change management methodologies.
