The DST Group play a critical role to support and sustain the new HPC Capability delivering a world class sovereign capability to enable advanced computational and data science in the DST Group by providing the tools and support for modelling, simulation and analysis in Defence's increasingly complex and data-rich world.

**The Role**
The Discipline Lead, Digital Science Solutions will collaborate across the Digital Science and Scientific Computing Branches of the Research Technology and Operations Division, other DSTG Divisions, and wider Defence, working most closely with the program office, Work Take On, cybersecurity and build functional areas. Leading a distributed team of high performing Architects, Security Architects and Technical Document Writers, this role ensures that solution designs align with enterprise design and roadmaps; contributes to the continued improvement of the current DSSC project delivery framework; and deliver outcomes that are a significant enabler of Defence IS&T capability impact.

**Duties may include**:

- Understand the context of Defence research and the drivers of Defence research impact
- Ensure that all designs align with enterprise design, future roadmaps and all relevant cyber security guidance
- Collaborate and contribute to the continued improvement of design aspects of the existing project delivery framework
- Manage the Digital Science Solutions team, functions and budget
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of DSSC capabilities and culture.

**Experience**
- Proven, high level experience leading a high performing architecture team
- Demonstrated ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment
- Proven capacity to build productive collaborative relationships across various stakeholders
- Ability to coach, mentor and support a distributed and hybrid team
- Experience working in a Defence or Research environment
