**About the team**

**The Y** operate two camp locations only 35 minutes north of Brisbane. The camps are set in beautiful bushland settings providing guests the opportunity to escape and recharge, or to challenge themselves through a range of adventure activities on land, in water, or up in the air.

**YMCA Camp Warrawee** are seeking an experienced **Kitchen Coordinator **on a **full-time fixed term** contract to join our team located in **Joyner, QLD.**

**About the role?**

The Kitchen Coordinator position is responsible for supervising all aspects of kitchen operations, including preparing and providing nutritious meals to campers. Offering a friendly and professional service to guests at all times and supervising other kitchen staff. This position will be preparing and organising the kitchen for service.

**What will my time look like?**
- Oversee the inventory, ordering, purchasing, and storage of food, maximising cost control and minimisation of waste
- Supervise all aspects of Food Safety as ‘Food Safety Supervisor’
- Plan the daily food preparation schedule in accordance with the camp program and meal timings
- Supervise, coordinate, and train the kitchen staff

**Am I a good match?**
- Trade qualifications and relevant industry experience in a similar role
- Hold a Food Safety Supervisor Qualification
- Hold a First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Complete a National Police Check
- Achievement of YMCA’s Safeguarding Children Training Certificate.
- Experience cooking and servicing over 100 meals per day
- Ability to modify meals for special dietary requirements, e.g., gluten-free and vegetarian diets
- Knowledge of food allergies and food-related diseases, and the ingredients that may cause the allergy/disease
- Knowledge of generally accepted well, balanced nutrition guidelines
