**About the State Library**
The State Library of New South Wales is one of Australia's oldest and most important public institutions. Collecting actively since 1826, the Library preserves and presents the social, cultural and scientific history of our State and our Nation for the benefit of all. Its rich collections, both physical and digital, alongside partnerships with the public library network across NSW and other vibrant collaborations enable Australians to examine their past and imagine their future. In short, the Library occupies a unique position at the very heart of our civil society.

The State Library's Public Library Services branch provides specialist advice and support to all local councils providing public library services to the people of NSW. The branch assists the Library Council of NSW to meet its objects and duties under the Library Act 1939 in relation to public libraries, manages the State Government’s public library grants and subsidies programs, and provides expert advice on the management and development of public libraries including library buildings, connectivity, collections and information services. The branch also provides cooperative information services with public libraries including find legal answers, drug info at your library and a circulating collection of books in 40 community languages.

**About the Role**

The Collection Services Coordinator
- Coordinates the day-to-day operation of the State Library Multilingual bulk loans services to NSW public libraries, including collection management activities such as acquisitions planning and collection maintenance in accordance with client needs and within budget.
- Provides direct client-focused reference, information and circulation services, and supervises and coordinates the work of staff in the provision of direct services to meet client needs.
- Supervises three Library Assistant’s and is responsible for the setting of work objectives and performance management of these staff.

**Knowledge and Experience**

To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge and experience:

- Experience in direct service provision to clients in a library or information services environment and an ability to supervise staff and coordinate service delivery.
- Skills and experience in using and administering automated systems and information technology in a library or information services environment.

**Essential Requirements**
- Qualifications acceptable for library technician membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) or other qualifications and experience deemed by the State Librarian to be equivalent, that meets the minimum standard of skill and knowledge inherent in the ALIA standard.
