Our client is a privately-owned resource investment company supported by its major shareholders.

They are seeking to employ a Mine Geologist to join the team at the open pit mine. Reporting to the Technical Services Supervisor and working as part of a Mining Operations team of geologists and field assistants, you will be responsible for:
In this role you would be responsible for:

- Collection, management, and interpretation of geoscientific data
- Overseeing the Mine Geology function by planning and scheduling in-mine geological activities to ensure business plans are achieved safely.
- Develop and provide high quality internal and external reporting
- User of geological blockmodeling software e.g. Surpac
- Maintain long term grade models
- Forecasting of expected (as mined) grade per block (daily as mined grade)
- Approve relocation of mining blocks when contacts achieved, with full OB or Ore removed
- Overseeing geological grade control processes to ensure a high standard of QAQC is maintained
- Monthly reconciliation of the ore and waste with the mining engineers
- Manage the infill drilling program
- Manage the on the ground exploration and reserve drilling
- Clearly communicate operational requirements to employees, managers and contractors
- Contribute to improvement projects and champion implementation to exceed annual plans
- Contribute to embedding an inclusive and high performing culture underpinned by the values of integrity, trust, courage, respect and performance excellence

You will need to have:

- Min 3 years up to 25 years in a similar mining-based role
- Degree Majoring in Geology
- Experience in using 3D mining software packages including wireframing and block modelling, SURPAC experience essential.
- Mineral sands experience is preferred but not essentials
- Manual Drivers license

You will be provided with access to a fully serviced camp accommodation. Position is FIFO on an **8:6 Roster**.

The role is contract to begin with but this will become permanent if both parties are happy at the end of the contract.
